Abstract

(1) Background: This study addresses the operational difficulties and severe safety hazards faced by smallholder farmers in mountainous areas when using mountain monorail transport vehicles.(2)  Methods: A user behavior analysis, including field observations and in-depth interviews, was conducted to map the operational workflow and identify critical pain points. Subsequently, a Kano model questionnaire was utilized to classify and prioritize design requirements. The final optimized design was ergonomically validated using Siemens Jack simulation software. (3) Results: The Kano analysis categorized 11 core requirements into must-be attributes (e.g., operational safety monitoring), one-dimensional attributes (e.g., an age-friendly simplified interface), and attractive attributes (e.g., an onboard seating module). Based on these insights, the final conceptual design innovatively integrated a safety cabin, a low-level effort-saving cargo platform, and a smart interaction system. (4) Conclusions: The proposed design effectively resolves the core pain points of users. The integrated User-Centered Design (UCD) and Kano methodology provides a viable theoretical framework and practical paradigm for the ergonomic and humanized upgrading of agricultural machinery.
